Arthur Wellington Fowles. Born in the early 1800s (thought to be 1815). Lived his entire life on the Isle of Wight where he painted maritime scenes. These were mainly single ship paintings, but he also painted the large Royal reviews. Some of his paintings are in Ryde town hall on the Isle of Wight and many paintings are with the Maritime Museum in Greenwich. |
